So you may have heard… there had to be some changes to Festum Carnis 2014. You can read all about what happened here. The good news is that THE SHOW WILL GO ON, and is now super cheap at only $30 for all weekend! Check out the new lineup, and go get your tickets here!
This is a genuine out-in-the-woods-on-a-fucking-mountain Metal experience… Feral, Natural, Primal, Carnal! We will forge this experience with music, food, drink, and the natural terrain which surrounds us! All of you die-hards who have conjured dreams of the primitive metal experience in the woods while surrounded by the elements of nature, here it is! Prepare your souls and the vessels they ride in! Wimps and primadonnas need not apply, as this is for the true warriors and agents of chaos who have envisioned such an experience!
Festum Carnis is in its second year, and we intent to rage even harder, meaner, steadier and nastier than the hellstravaganza that was last year! For 2014 we have one more day than last year, meaning now there are THREE FUCKING DAYS OF METAL IN THE WOODS. Check out the Lineup page to see them all. Get ready to rage forth once again maniacs, for this is your independent outdoor metal festival!
Bring your tools of instinctual survival… as the mountainous woods await!
Festum Carnis is a 3 day weekend camping festival celebrating the joyous thing that is Metal in the forest. Do you like Metal? Do you like the forest? Then you will love Festum Carnis. There will be THREE DAYS OF METAL playing over the course of the weekend, enough to satiate even a Nordic Lord’s most brutal listening desires. Since this is a 3 day festival, we will be camping there overnight for a few days. So unless you plan on renting one of the Cabins for the weekend, bring the shit you will need to sleep and survive in the forest.
This year Festum Carnis will be on June 6th, 7th and 8th, 2014. The main gate opens at 9:00 AM on Friday, and the first band goes on at 11:00 AM. There will be multiple stages of music playing all throughout the day for all three days… music from 11:00 AM in the morning until 3:00 AM at night. Everyone must be out by 4 PM on Monday.
It’s at the same location as last year, Stone Bear Cabins. Stone Bear is 160 acres of private land surrounded by Tahoe National Forest. It’s right off of I-80 in Northern California, halfway between Sacramento and Reno. The closest town is Truckee. There are a limited number of cabins available, and plenty of room for camping. The camping spots are all first-come first-serve, so make sure you get to the festival early enough to snag a good spot. We will have porta-potties available, but there will not be any flush toilets or showers available. We recommend taking rag or sponge baths to keep clean. Think camping.
Festum Carnis is a fundraiser for The Handy House of Art and Science. The Handy House is trying to raise money to set up a co-op art, science, and music space in Contra Costa county (CA) where people can have a safe haven to work on their art projects, perform science experiments, practice their music, and have a place to be creative outside of the home. We realize that not everyone has a lot of room to art out at their home, either because they live in a small apartment, with a bunch of roommates, still with their parents, or in an environment not conducive to creativity. That’s why we are setting up The Handy House of Art and Science… to give people a chance to be with like-minded individuals and to find their creative outlet. We do a lot of random events in Contra Costa and Solano county, check The Handy House of Art and Science
out on Facebook to see what we are currently up to!
